John H. Schweitzer was born and raised in San Diego, California. He attended Arizona State University and graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication in May 1989. Mr. Schweitzer went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson University School of Law. After graduation in May 1992, he was involved in private banking with to internationally recognized firms. Mr. Schweitzer worked in this industry on Wall Street and in Los Angeles, specializing in estate planning for corporate executives. In 1999, Mr. Schweitzer acted upon his lifelong desire of becoming a United States Marine, and was commissioned a Marine second lieutenant in December of that same year.
Major Schweitzer served as Civil Law Officer, Defense Counsel, and Legal Assistance Officer, where he was first introduced to the intricacies of family law practice. After deployment for service in Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom, Major Schweitzer remained on active duty, serving as Legal Assistance Officer at Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar. He still is actively serving in the Marine Corps Reserves with the Legal Support Services Section of Camp Pendleton, California.
Mr. Schweitzer concentrates his practice in Family Law, Military Divorce, Child Custody & Support, Modification of Orders, Jurisdictional Law, and Military Law. He is an active member of the San Diego County Bar Association.
Mr. Schweitzer is married and resides in Bird Rock, California, with his wife, Linda, and their son, Sammy. He enjoys snow and water skiing, surfing, running, biking, swimming, and traveling.

Mrs. Schweitzer has been an associate with the firm since March 2008. She was born in Cairo, Egypt, of her Lebanese/French father and Greek mother and was raised in parts of the Middle East, Europe and United States. She became a citizen through the naturalization process in the mid-1990's. Mrs. Schweitzer brings a unique global view to the firm and has expertise in research and writing. She served as an intern with the City Attorney, U.S. Attorney's Office and the 4th District Court of Appeal. Mrs. Schweitzer enjoys the outdoors, reading, relaxing with her family, and traveling.
